Energy Efficiency is Key for Xylem Water Solutions’ New e-HM Pumps

By The PR Collective, 20.05.14 | Comments
Ever the energy-efficiency champion, Xylem Water Solutions South Africa, a part of the global water solutions leader, Xylem Inc.; is proud to announce a new range of stainless steel, horizontal, multi-stage Lowara pumps with its innovative e-HM range.
With ever increasing pressures on our natural resources globally, and in a South African context, electricity shortages in particular – the need for greater energy efficiency in our daily lives has become paramount. The new e-HM series is a perfect solution to address these issues, as it has been specifically designed to provide vast energy savings for residential commercial and industrial applications.
The new industrial e-HM pump is based on the same innovative hydraulic design as the popular vertical multistage e-SV series and boasts superior performance and efficiency characteristics which significantly lower lifecycle costs and increase energy savings, which improves energy efficiency in residential, commercial and industrial applications by 15-20%.
The modularity of Xylem’s new e-HM range of stainless steel Lowara pumps will be of huge benefit for all uses, due to the range of configurations available to customers. The various configurations available allows the pump to be adapted in order to meet an extensive range of applications such as chillers, heating, air conditioning units,  water treatment, hot and cold liquid circulation, pressure boosting for washing and cleaning and also aggressive liquids.
With an average operational time of at least 20,000 hours in normal conditions, the e-HM pump also provides end users with an improved ‘total cost of ownership’. It boasts pump flow of up to 29 m3/h and can perform to a maximum pressure of 16 bars. Due to the high grade stainless steel used, it can be used to pump potable water while providing superior corrosion resistance. An added bonus is that the pump remains almost completely silent while operating.
This efficient, energy saving, juggernaut of a pump is available as a single unit for installers, or as part of a “plug and pump” package. This offers flexibility, as users can use either a tank and fixed speed controls or variable speed controls, for turnkey solutions. The fixed speed option offers a basic solution with a larger tank, while the variable speed option allows the speed of the pump to be adjusted in relation to requirement. This again contributes greatly to reduction in energy consumption. Another advantage of the variable speed option is that it also prevents the development of water hammer when the pump system is stopped.
This superior product provides ease of selection thanks to a greatly increased range for universal applications and efficiency through both energy and cost savings features – including increased pump thickness, reduced sealing points, new welding technology outstanding e-SV hydraulics. It is available in a range of material options such as SS AISI 304 and SS AISI 316 and electro-polished and passivated AISI 316 stainless steel. The e-HM pump can also be fitted with EPDM rubber, FPM rubber and Karlez® O-rings; as well as carbon, ceramic and silicon carbide mechanical seals.
With the e-HM pumps from Xylem, the company reaffirms its commitment to developing products that contribute to global sustainability, while remaining at the forefront of groundbreaking technology – ever geared towards customer satisfaction.
