BDU (NMMU Business School)

The BDU, founded as the Business Studies Unit, was formed in 1986 out of a need identified by the business community for relevant ‘applied’ tertiary education.

Its first programme was the Advanced Business Programme in 1988.

Other courses were developed to meet market demand including industry specific programmes and labour courses.

In 1995 the BSU began offering a Masters Degree in Business Administration and in 1996 the first 100 students enrolled.

In 2011 the BDU entered into a strategic partnership with NMMU
