Trisha Naicker's professional CV writing tips
Short and sweet
Keep your CV as concise as possible. Your professional CV should ideally not go over six pages. Give enough detail, but don't go overboard. The interview will provide the perfect occasion to go in depth.
Career highlights section
Here you can summarise the focal points in your professional career and will give the prospective employer a brief overview of your skills and experience.
Be honest
Be truthful about your experience. You don't want to risk the opportunity by getting caught out at interview stage.
Ensure your CV is pleasant to look at
Cluttered CVs are simply distracting. Use a format that allows for an orderly flow of information and plenty of white space.
And most importantly:
Ensure it is error free!
Language and grammar mistakes can jeopardise your entire application. If you are unsure, get a professional to proofread your CV.
