Kurland’s Green Gourmet Kids

To create awareness with the younger generation on the importance of healthy eating and living a more environmentally aware lifestyle, Kurland now offers children’s menus that draw on seasonal specialties grown in the hotel’s organic herb and vegetable gardens. This kick starts an extensive ‘greening process’ at Kurland. 

After designing their own chef’s hat they help prepare dinner, decorate healthy cupcakes, make ice-lollies – free of additives and preservatives - and on pizza night, with assistance, they create their own pizza in the courtyard’s pizza oven.  

The Chefs Table takes on a whole new meaning. Having discussed menu preferences with our young guests, dinners are a fun affair served around the enormous farmhouse-style kitchen table.

Picnic hampers are a healthy hit for trips to the beach, rambles around the dam or a family cycle around the estate. Other initiatives implemented include recycling refuse and using natural fly-repellent by the stables.
