BABWF - SA gives the Ann Harding Cheshire Home a day out to Remembear

By Claire Jackson, 24.11.08 | Comments

Build-A-Bear Workshop® Foundation - South Africa gives the Ann Harding Cheshire Home a day out to remembear

The Build-A-Bear Workshop® Foundation- South Africa is spreading the hugs and hosting a day out for 20 residents from the Ann Harding Cheshire Home in Randburg on 12 November 2008 at Build-A-Bear Workshop® Clearwater Mall.

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home is a home for physically disabled people in Randburg.  This home is one of sixteen Cheshire Homes for the Physically Disabled in South Africa, and each Home is an independent organisation run by volunteers.

20 residents will be given the opportunity to make their own furry friends and bring them to life at Build-A-Bear Workshop as well as enjoy refreshments provided by Maestro Clearwater Mall.

As an added bonus, Miss Earth South Africa 2008, Matapa Maila, along with Miss Earth South Africa managing director, Catherine Constantinides, will be showing their support and will be there to assist with the party and help spread the hugs.

Started in 1973, and with 34 full time residents, the Ann Harding Cheshire Home relies totally on corporate and community donations. Their greatest monthly expenses are salaries and food and unfortunately, they often have a monthly shortfall of over R50, 000.

Although the Build-A-Bear Workshop® Foundation - South Africa primarily supports children’s health, wellness and education, it is firmly believed that all adults are children at heart and that providing a day out for the residents of the Ann Harding Cheshire Home will be a day to be remebeared.
