Is it POSSIBLE to re-boot the Human Brain like a computer?

By Colin Dovey, 03.11.09 | Comments

Is it Possible to re-boot the Human Brain as we would a Computer?

When your desktop computer is “tired” it just chooses to stop working and tells you by hanging up, or often even showing you the finger with a “blue screen of death.”  For some, the only short-term solution is to switch off and re-boot. Would it not be an attractive option  if we humans could just do something like that? Perhaps they have already found the answer on the well known virtual planet of Superman fame, Krypton?

When homo sapiens feels tired, especially when involved in the often frenetic pace of life in 2009, the root of the problem is most often not bodily in nature, but rather from a signal coming from somewhere in the brain. Studies show that people stop exercising when they are mentally fatigued as opposed to being just physically incapable.

If you travel to work by car in the mornings, and get stuck in a traffic jam, do yourself a favour by looking at the people driving in the rows on either side of you. What I have noticed recently, is one person will look close to committing “Hari-Kiri” or “Seppuku” (suicidal state of mind) whilst another will sit there in tranquil splendour! What could be the difference? Same traffic, same stress trigger factors, different response!

Can the human ability to feel calm be induced without allopathic medication or hallucinatory  substances?

It is important to understand that the root cause of mental fatigue after a period of perceived stress is a direct result of a TEMPORARY imbalance in the levels of the chemicals sodium and potassium in the brain cells. This is a VERY important point to understand, because within this lies the solution.

This is because, apart from any other factors, these two chemicals are crucial to the process of osmosis around the brain cells. This is the process which transports yet other chemicals in and out of the human brain cells.

Also that mental fatigue lowers the brain’s inhibition against quitting and the other that mentally fatigue affects dopamine, a brain chemical that plays a role in motivation and effort. People with chronic fatigue report they lack energy and experience “brain fog,”

To counter what is felt as mental fatigue, most people normally respond in one of 5 ways:

·         Popping a headache pill containing the analgesic Paracetamol

·         Drinking a range of alcoholic beverages – Whisky, Beer etc

·         Drinking any one of a variety of cola drinks or plain water

·         Doing or taking nothing – and complaining constantly

Surely there must be a better way?

Let us travel in a short journey using an analogy often successfully applied in a hypnosis session:

Imagine standing at the top of a short stairwell, and you are engaged in a lively conversation. If we were able to measure our brainwave activity, it would be found that in tandem with our perceived actions there would be a lot going on. So it would be said that we are in a wide-awake, alert mental state.

There is nothing abnormal about this, because this is generally the mental state most of us are in during the day, and most of our working lives. In scientific terms this is known as a BETA Brainwave state.

Going further with our staircase analogy, we now sit down on the step lower down, just “clutching out” – awake, but not actually processing any information. This brainwave state is known as ALPHA.

Finally, we succumb perhaps to exhaustion, and decide that one step lower down is actually quite comfortable, and even conducive to lying down. We now feel extremely relaxed, bordering on in a state of light sleep. This is known as THETA brainwave state.

How can we INDUCE our brains to just chill out?

Have you ever looked at the flickering light of an open fireplace or candle? Maybe you were listening to the melodious, relaxing sound of soft music. Or perhaps you’ve sat in a train or car listening to the sound of the rain falling and watching the rain drops fall down on the window pane. If this already happens in nature, then one route to countering mental fatigue could be by applying what is known as Brainwave Entrainment.

The knowledge of what outside stimuli can do to our brainwave activity has been around for a very long time. In fact, one of my forefathers (Dovey) – together with two other researchers in 1946, Walter, Dovey and Shipton,  introduced the "electronic stroboscope". This produced highly accurate information about the timing of evoked brainwaves. They also noted some perceived psychological effects.

Instead of just talking, there is nothing better than DOING, so, if you would like to experience the sensation for 10 minutes right now, this is very easy to do this with a computer connection to the internet: just click here: Brainwave Entrainment Exercise. Choose your “Sound Byte” and then simply relax in your comfortable chair, turn up the volume and be transported to another world for just ten minutes. When you open your eyes again you will feel as if you are in another world. No pills, no drugs, no drinks, no headache – and best of all? No mental fatigue! Your Potassium and Sodium levels have been restored.

Conclusion

The message is that the natural approach to leading a rewarding lifestyle is now within our grasp, and that Human Bio-Computer sitting between your shoulders can now be effectively re-booted! Moreover, the subconscious faculty that we all have to dwell on, and respond badly to every whim of our fears and desires can now actually be countered. Everybody can do this by just closing their eyes to increase their natural levels of Melatonin. Artificial light reduces melatonin production. Shift-workers who sleep in darkened rooms with their eyes closed can increase melatonin production during daylight hours. For people who sleep "normal hours", natural melatonin production peaks between 2 am and 4 am, with the peaks becoming smaller with advancing age after early childhood.

GENERAL OBSERVATIONSI have developed an innate ability to assess people, and the net benefit to you will be that I can playa meaningful role in the recognition and building up of skills at every level in the businessenvironment in any capacity. I have developed a spectrum of innovative tools to assist people, themost significant of which is Guided Oral Self-Hypnosis.During the past 5 years, having studied Handwriting Analysis, I have passionately applied thisknowledge to a unique understanding of the human psyche, and have coined the term Graph-a-Persona around which an individual’s Thinking Styles can be assessed.

This approach has led me touse a methodology akin to a the Psychometric Projective approach for accurately assessing INNATE human skills not easily recognised in our youth. Finally, I have developed my own web site: www.graph-a-persona.com which serves to demonstrate my versatility and familiarity with subject across a WIDE spectrum of knowledge gained over the years.
