DVI First in SA for full HD on Bluray

With the 2010 world cup just over a year away and HD set to become a broadcast standard for Television in South Africa DVI is already at the forefront of this new technology, filming and editing in full HD (1080x1920) onto BluRay, a new frontier in video quality, “I can’t believe the quality, it’s absolutely awesome, you must see this to believe it’ – Rob Turner.

This is unique in SA because many videographers currently film in HD but still downsize the video quality to SD on DVD, missing out on the full potential of HD. With HD on BluRay one can’t help but notice how much sharper and more vibrant the picture quality is, especially when compared to SD. One need only compare a DVD movie to it’s BluRay version to understand.  In a nutshell, ‘it’s simply twice as good.’

It’s hard to imagine that wedding videos can now share the same quality on BluRay and DVI is one of the only companies in South Africa to achieve this, producing full HD(1080x1920) using top of the range equipment such as the Panasonic AVCAM cameras and the MAC PRO 8Core G5 for editing. ‘It’s the way the world’s going, with HD we need faster computers and better cameras to keep up” – Rob Turner.
