DIE NUTSMAN RETURNS TO TV SCREENS

By The P.R Team, 25.05.11 | Comments

Riaan Garforth-Venter, better known as Die Nutsman will return to SABC 2 for his 6th successful television series of ‘DIY met Riaan’, which premiers on Saturday, 4 June 2011 at 8:30 on SABC 2 and will be on air for 26 weeks.

Starting on a high note, the new half hour show starts by surprising the winner of the R350, 000 home makeover competition from the previous series. Viewers will go inside the house to see what is planned for the makeover and the final reveal will be aired during the course of the series. The winner also receives a 2 night stay at the 5-star, Hotel Izulu in Ballito.

The new sms competition for this series, will consist of fantastic, weekly prizes from each of the sponsors such as various product prize packs from Medal Paints, tools and product hampers from Top Line Tools, vouchers from Afrox, Eurolux, Tile Africa, Eureka, Bosch and products from Spec Pumps.

To stand a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes, viewers can sms to 33767 with the word DIY and their full name. Sms’s are charged at R1.50 per sms and the lines are now open.

The new, interactive website can be found at www.diymetriaan.co.za offering step by step instructions and video clips of Riaan’s Top DIY tips.

This new DIY met Riaan series will take on a ‘back to basics’ approach, which has been achievable through the many fans that offered their suggestions via the DIY met Riaan Facebook page over the past few months.

The show also introduces a new kids segment in every second episode aptly called, ‘The Red Tool Box Kit’.  These are great, easy to follow, projects for parents and kids to do together, especially during weekends and school holidays, and therefore they offer an educational element to the show.

Comments Riaan, “During our research we really wanted to find out what the viewers wanted to see and learn about on the new show and it was amazing to find out how many suggested day to day diy projects and also how to go greener and save the environment and their budget. For the new kids section, not only are the projects fun but they also empower the kids and shows them how to look after their future homes.”

Max Thongani is back with his ‘Medal Paints Minute’ in each episode – showing viewers the wide range of Medal Paints products and how to apply them with ease.

Some of the series highlights will include welding projects, making your own headboard, a modern coffee table and a wall unit.  We feature a special roof episode – from sealing your roof and step by step instructions on how to build your own patio overhang as well as security to décor – this series will have it all.

Sponsors for the show are: Medal Paints, Topline Tools, Afrox, Eurolux, Speck Pumps, Tile Africa, Eureka and Bosch.
