Local supporters of Reach For A Dream Western Cape have often asked for an annual golf day to be added to the events calendar. In response to generous donors, supporters and friends of the foundation, their inaugural golf day will take place on the 20th of May 2011 at the Clovelly Country Club. Many of Reach For A Dream’s regional offices countrywide have enjoyed great success with similar events and it’s a hope that the same tradition will be continued here in the Western Cape.

Genevieve Cross of Reach For A Dream says that the prestigious Clovelly Country Club is the ideal golf course for this event. “We’ve always had a great relationship with the club and have been blessed to be the beneficiary of various golf days they’ve held over the years. We are incredibly excited that we will now be hosting our own.” One of the finest golf courses in South Africa, Clovelly offers its members and visitors a memorable experience. A robust membership profile ensures that the club thrives from sporting, competitive and social perspectives. As one of the most frequently visited golf courses, 60 000 rounds are played on the course each year.

The Reach For A Dream inaugural golf day is a great marketing opportunity for corporates who can enter a 4 ball and brand a hole for R4000. The package includes 18 holes of golf, prize giving dinner (includes raffle and auction) and halfway house, a goody bag, fantastic prizes and the opportunity to fulfill the dreams of children with life threatening illnesses.

According to Cross, their regional office aims to fulfill 240 dreams in the Western Cape during 2011 and they can’t do so without support for their fundraising initiatives. “The average cost of a dream is R7000 and we believe that every child deserves to have their dream fulfilled,” she concludes.
