The Relais & Châteaux Association Welcomes the Silver Wind to South Africa
To welcome Silversea Cruises and strengthen ties with its associate partner, the Relais & Châteaux, Southern, East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands delegation created a luncheon onboard the luxurious ‘Silver Wind’ when it recently docked in Cape Town and invited a group of Relais & Châteaux, Club 5 C members, media and VIPs to experience life on the ocean waves.
The 4 course luncheon was created by award-winning Executive Chef, Peter Tempelhoff of The Collection by Liz McGrath, assisted by Michael Cooke, Head Chef at The Cellars-Hohenort’s Conservatory Restaurant.
As part of the educational day visit on board the Silver Wind, guests were taken on a tour of the ship to experience all its world class facilities and get an insight into the workings of a vessel and cruise line of this calibre.
Comments Director of Relais & Châteaux, Annie-Claude Bergonzoli: “This was a perfect opportunity to meet one of our official partners and to show guests that not only can they travel in style at one of our many properties locally and internationally and even create their very own Route du Bonheur but they can also sail the high seas or even combine both land and sea to have an experiential vacation of a lifetime. Silversea is the only cruise line to partner with the Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux.”
Second in the Silversea fleet, Silver Wind is much like Silver Cloud and a shining example of intimate, elegant cruising. As spacious as a grand hotel, as gracious as a best friends’ home, the lifestyle on board Silver Wind is one of fewer guests, more space and features Silversea’s renowned personalised service. Recent Silver Wind ship refurbishments include upgraded interiors and enticing enhancements that include a new ocean-view spa, new Observation Lounge and eight new suites.
