Sixty extraordinary chefs at the Château de Versailles

By The P.R Team, 17.02.11 | Comments
At the initiative of Jaume Tàpies, Chairman of the Board of Relais & Châteaux, and Marc Haeberlin, President of Grandes Tables du Monde, Le Dîner des Grands Chefs, in honour of French gastronomy, will take place at the Château de Versailles on April 6, 2011.

In the sumptuous setting of the Gallery of Battles, after a visit to the Hall of Mirrors and the exhibition “Thrones in Majesty” in the heart of the Royal Apartments, 650 privileged guests will enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience.

This event, staged in partnership with Moët Hennessy, the Wines & Spirits division of LVMH, and orchestrated by 60 Grands Chefs from all over the world, including Fréderic Anton, Daniel Boulud, Jean-André Charial, Hélène Darroze, Edouard Loubet, Thomas Keller, Kiyomi Mikuni, Michel Troisgros, celebrates the inscription of the Gastronomic Meal of the French in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The proceeds of the evening will be donated to the French Heritage and Gastronomy Mission (MFPCA) chaired by Jean-Robert Pitte, for the creation of the Cité de la Gastronomie.

For Jaume Tàpies “this initiative embodies the mission of our Association, which encompasses an expression of taste, disseminating the values of the French “art de vivre” and bringing people together to celebrate important moments around a meal.”

As of November 16, 2010, the Gastronomic Meal of the French has been included in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This is a success for the Grands Chefs Relais & Châteaux, who have supported this initiative for some time. On May 20, 2008 Jaume Tàpies launched, together with Patrick Henriroux, Vice President for the Grands Chefs, an appeal to “support, defend and promote the culinary arts.”
