(The fuel consumptions of motor bikes are much better than normal vehicles.) Unlike many other adventure sporting activities, you can experience motor biking on your own. No need to include the children or your mother-in-law. 

The vast landscape of the Karoo is often a favourite amongst motor biking devotees. The long stretches of open road give motor bikers the opportunity to accelerate without having to worry about delays in traffic. The countryside is often accompanied by long stretches of tar and the scenery has a distinctive charm that is unprecedented in other parts of the country. 

Motor biking is often a great way of discovering some of South Africa’s best kept secrets – the small towns in the countryside Where you will find the friendliest people with the greatest stories, the best fresh produce and even restaurants. In the Karoo these include beautiful places like Prince Albert and Graaff-Reinet. 

Mountain passes are also favourites amongst motor biking fans. The Outeniqua pass near George and Sir Lowry’s Pass outside Somerset West are complemented by a beautiful backdrop of ocean scenery and should definitely be added to motor biking enthusiasts’ to-do-lists.
