In February 2011, the IGT Challenge Pro Tour (IGTCPT) is launching a 25-tournament season in Gauteng. Included, there will be three MAJORS culminating with the Summer Series Championship, Winter Series Championship, five (5) Q-School Prep Series events and IGT Tour Championship in December.

Pretoria, Gauteng (January 10, 2011) -- Up until now it’s mainly been Sunshine & PGA golfers who could experience the exhilaration of playing on tour and competing for big purses. But now there is the IGTCPT, the IGT Challenge Pro Tour presented by IGTGolf that created the first professional developmental tour that is affordable & convenient and played in South Africa.

The IGT Challenge Pro Tour is the breeding ground for future champions, in another way your University for playing Tournament Golf! So you want to make a career playing golf, but you don't know where to start. The IGT Challenge Pro Tour is designed to help aspiring golfers, like you, start playing professional golf.  Everyone has to start somewhere, and very few of us can go right to the PGA Tour.  Most golfers start in the mini tours like The IGT Challenge Pro Tour. 

The IGT Challenge Pro Tour will afford players the opportunity to play in a more convenient and affordable competitive environment. Players will not be required to travel all over the country to find a tournament. No more weekly travel costs, hotel & restaurant expenses or outrageous entry fees. Join the hundreds of professional golfers who will experience the courses, competition and benefits of the IGTCPT.

An R1,200 annual membership fee grants players an opportunity to compete in any of the 25 events. Membership also gives a player the chance to qualify for the 3 Majors, Sunshine Q-School and Player of the Year award.

The IGT Challenge Pro Tour is the only Tour in South Africa, besides the Sunshine Tour, to offer a full week of activities on the same basis as a PGA Tournament. The IGT Challenge Pro Tour is a new professional developmental golf tour that provides professional golfers and amateurs, with a handicap of 4 or lower, tournament experience that could prepare golfers for the ultimate goal of playing on the Sunshine or PGA Tours.
