Sandton City selects new IntellePark Micron 7

IntellePark has recently completed the pay-on-foot parking system upgrade at Sandton City. The system installed boasts the latest technology in the pay-on-foot market with several advanced features tailored for our client, Liberty Properties.

In order to streamline payments and facilitate reduced coin handling, all the pay stations have been equipped with Bill-to-Bill note change dispensers, providing customers with note change after payment. Pay stations employ a user friendly 8” Colour display and are fitted with proximity readers to facilitate the monthly payment of tenant cards and the top up of Stored Value cards.

The new generation ticket devices now feature HICO thermal ticket printing with centre stripe facility to ensure a high ticket read rate and fast ticket processing. Tenant access into the parkade is controlled via proximity readers, which are enabled / disabled via payment at the pay stations, negating the requirement of cash collection for monthly card holders.

All devices are equipped with new generation Micron 7 Microcomputers, linked via an Ethernet backbone to the central server utilising PP60 Graphic User Interface (GUI) Parking Management Software. The GUI provides the operator with a simple and fast manner to configure, control, monitor and report on system.

Whilst the Micron 7 system is equipped with onboard VOIP, the client opted to install the Stentafon IP intercom system to provide a common intercom platform for both the parking system and the control of service passage doors and gates throughout the centre. Presently the system has over 300 IP intercom stations in operation with the ability to connect up to 560 intercom points per exchange. Service passage gates are monitored and opened via security control with automatic video switching, whilst parking devices are monitored and controlled via the parking management office.

Sandton City is presently being upgraded and when complete the centre will boast one of the largest Pay-on-Foot systems in Southern Africa with over 40 pay stations and 60 entry / exit ticket devices.
