Smokoo offers a Bite of the New Apple Nano 6th generation
In what is rapidly becoming one of the hallmarks of Smokoo.co.za, this revolutionary new auction site has, once more, been scouting at the leading edge of technology. They were the first South African site to offer the awesome new Apple iPad range and even gave one away in their launch campaign. Soon after, they followed up with the equally spectacular, Apple iPhone 4. Now, in yet another first, Smokoo has dipped once more into the ever-expanding product range of this innovative manufacturer to offer online bargain hunters the latest, iPod Nano 6th generation.
Apple announced the release of its latest iPod 6th generation on September 1st and its radical new design is set to set music lovers the world over, scrambling to beg, borrow or steal one. At almost half the size and weight of its predecessor, the new generation version has dropped the old click wheel in favour of a much faster and simpler touchscreen action. The sole remaining protuberances on this sleek new device are a pair of volume buttons and a clip to secure it to whatever you happen to be wearing.
The best news of all though is probably that the upgraded battery can now continue to churn out hi-fidelity sound for a full 24 hours. Just how much music will the new iPod Nano hold? Just how much do you want? It comes in two versions, offering 8GB and 16GB of storage respectively. Take your pick!
Enough of the sales talk though. Just when will South Africans be able to bid on one of these amazing new gizmos? A little bird at Smokoo.co.za just whispered in my ear that I should go and check out their site. It appears that their unsleeping design team has been hard at work preparing the new auction template and the first offer of this brand new iPod nano 6th generation is already underway.
It’s not yet clear exactly how much a fully-imported new iPod will eventually go on sale for in South Africa but Smokoo’s figure of R1 899 seems about right. Even if you were living in the United States, it would still set you back at least $149 for the 8GB version or $179 for the larger, 16GB model. What is, however, abundantly clear, is that skillful bidders in the upcoming Smokoo.co.za auctions will be able to enjoy Apple’s latest and greatest for a mere one or two percent of what the average American will be paying.
Incidentally, even if you don’t manage to win one on auction, Smokoo.co.za might allow you to redeem your bids against the full purchase price, so you could still be one of the first South Africans to boast a 6th generation iPod of your very own. Check it out. You could still be in time to win the first one.
