Networking4Africa announces Charity Beneficiary

By Kim, 31.08.10 | Comments
Networking4Africa has just announced its first charity beneficary.

After weeks of speculation as to which charities Networking4Africa will support, the business announced today that the first beneficiary will be Tabitha Ministries, a registered charity in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Tabitha operates from their building in Pietermaritzburg (Hope House) where there are numerous abandoned children under care.  These children range from newborn to approximately 12 years old and include 91 babies.

They run an outreach program into a rural settlement area outside of Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands, which caters for 6052 Children who are on the Charity’s books.  Tabitha provides food, medicines, school uniforms etc and trains and runs a group of “community mothers†who care for 2520 parentless children in the areas who live in ramshackle huts in groups of between six and twelve children per dwelling.

When asked about the charity, co founder of Networking4Africa, Mr. Kim Hodgson said that "Tabitha does have a Christian basis, but is not denominationally linked and they are doing some incredible work with Children, which is completely aligned with what Networking4Africa is about."

"Networking4Africa is non religious and non political and we will support a wide range of charities across the spectrum.  As long as the children receive benefit and the charity complies with all the criterea we set, we are satisfied that our contributions will go to those who need them the most" Mr. Hodgson said.

Mr, Hodgson went on to say "We are looking at a range of Charities and projects, each one will go through a strict due dilligence process before we contribute funding."  In addition, we have appointed independent people to assist in the decision making and external accountants which will account for the funding."

Networking4Africa looks set to make a significant difference and with the first funding due to be allocated in September, many children will directly benefit.
