K9Mums Announces Global Launch in Bid to Sterilize Domestic Pets on an International Level

Somerset West, Cape Town, South Africa, January 2009.  K9Mums, operating since 1994, has embarked on an international initiative that will not only create jobs but also assist in sterilizing dogs and cats the world over.

K9 Mums was founded by Michele De Bruin & Charmaine Rolfe in October 1994.  Our service provides an alternative to kenneling by arranging for dogs to be accommodated in private homes, personally and lovingly cared for by their K9 Mum. 

This home-away-from-home facility for ‘dogs on holiday’ means that once each dog's personal needs have been established, he/she will be placed with a K9Mum who is able to meet his/her requirements. This ensures complete peace of mind for the dog’s owner as well as a happy holiday for the dog.  Each dog in our care enjoys the opportunity of becoming part of the K9Mum’s family, having the run of the house and garden and being totally loved and spoilt – from tummy tickles to milk and cookies before bedtime. 

We are now endeavoring to share 15 years experience by offering our support, expertise and detailed business model, along with all the necessary forms, website hosting etc. to housewives and senior citizens worldwide.  This would be specifically for those who are dog lovers and who would like to work from home.  They could work alone (looking after the dogs themselves) or expand their business by taking on other K9Mums to assist, especially at peak times of the year.  What they receive for their investment is everything they will need to start operating from Day 1.

This project, also termed a ‘’business in a box” was officially made available at the beginning of 2009 at the price of R4999.00 and already we have our first new “K9Mum’s Business Owner” on board.  Via her purchase, K9Mums was able to donate 20% towards the sterilization of 4 dogs.  (See website for details.  Also please note:  As K9Mums grows the percentage donated to animal rescue/welfare organizations will increase.)  Our dream, to contribute towards reducing the population explosion of millions of unwanted and homeless puppies and kittens globally, is now becoming a reality.

We are determined to have a hand in making the world a better place for animals and in so doing leaving a higher standard for the next generation to strive for.   Not only that but it is our heart’s desire to reach a level of such magnitude that we will be able to contribute significantly to all animal welfare organizations worldwide in the form of food, medication, blankets, bricks, cement etc., but most of all to have as many dogs and cats spayed/neutered as possible.
