Hunter Hotels Created Edible Seabed Table @ The Oyster Festival

The family owned and operated 5-star Hunter Hotels Group, consisting of four ultra chic luxury establishments, all proud members of Relais & Châteaux, participated in one of the most celebrated events along the Garden Route - the Pick n Pay Oyster & Wine Mardi Gras on Wednesday, July 7, forming part of the prestigious Knysna Oyster Festival.

Hunter Hotels was represented by their Sous Chefs, which included Shawn Longley-Taylor, Ryan Miller and Christo Pretorius. Each participating team received nine hundred oysters to prepare, with an ‘oyster fantasy’ as the main theme.

These three talented Chefs took this theme to a whole new level by creating an entire edible seabed table made up of sand, coral, and shells and much more as the platform to serve their oyster recipes. Eight hundred national and international guests were invited to experience this delightful delicacy in true culinary style.

ZINZI Restaurant, part of the Hunter Hotels Group, situated between Hunter's Country House and Tsala Treetop Lodge on the private Hunter’s Estate in Plettenberg Bay will now offer signature specials to guests as a result of the oyster festival.
